Plot: During their college years, Anjali was in love with her best-friend Rahul, but he had eyes only for Tina. Years later, Rahul and the now-deceased Tina's eight-year-old daughter attempts to reunite her father and Anjali.
Karan Johar originally had Twinkle Khanna in mind as the second lead and even went as far as to name the character as Tina after Twinkle’s nickname, but was forced to make changes in the movie’s line-up after she turned the role down. After Twinkle turned down the part, the role was offered to Tabu, Shilpa Shetty, Urmila Matondkar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor who all refused.
Johar wanted to cast Saif Ali Khan for the supporting role played by Salman Khan in the movie
During Neelam Show, the scene just before Shah Rukh Khan speaks, there is a scene in which a guy pleads her girl friend to leave him because he has found a new girl. The guy's role was played by none other than Nikhil Advani who directed Shah Rukh Khan in 'Kal Ho Na Ho' and the new girl was Farah Khan who directed Shah Rukh Khan in 'Main Hoon Naa' and 'Om Shanti Om'.
Kajol got seriously injured during the shooting of the song ‘Yeh Ladka Hai Deewana’. During a bike riding sequence she lost control of the bike and cut her knee quite badly. You can just see her losing control before the camera cuts out the shot.
The scene in which Kajol walks up to Rani and Shah Rukh Khan dressed up in a blinding pink and orange dress, is laughed at by none other than Farah Khan and Manish Malhotra sitting on the stairs. Farah Khan wears a cap and Manish is seen sitting right next to her.
